After a long and winding hour in the office, instead of heading to my bedroom and launching my sleep rocket, I usually find myself comfortably sitting on my couch like a dirty dog on his cage carpet. Perhaps I'm already an insomniac or infected with all the sleep-disorder known by humanity, because I really can't sleep immediately even if my body wants to take that coveted rest. I took advice from friends and experts like bathing in hot shower, (but not so hot to burn my skin), and drinking full-cream milk before going to sleep. I followed these suggestions, though I stop drinking milk anymore because I'm lactose-intolerant if you know what I mean, and not drinking my Maxwell House coffee for three more days will kill me in an instant.
So here I am staring at my 102-inch widescreen high definition television from Samsung which is said to employ liquid crystal technology for a vibrant, brilliant, and perfect color reproduction with a resolution of 1080 x 1090 programming to give you that ultimate home theater feel. I'm getting dizzy not because of the product specs, aside from hunger I feel that 3.9 megapixels in my TV is no longer healthy for me. I don't have plans of cooking dinner like what I've been doing for the past three years. I have pizza in the fridge anyway, and I can have it warmed in the microwave whenever I want.
Going back to my TV, I missed the last episode of American Idol, and it's a poor thing I failed to see the final performance of Taylor Hicks which made him the second Birmingham winner of the prestigious singing tilt. I voted for him at least thirty times when only three of them were left, because the two other contenders are also great that Simon Cowell might vote Hicks out. Anyway, I'll just wait for another season of the program and buy Hicks' latest album as soon as I can.

Last November, the fourth film adaptation of J.K Rowlings popular Harry Potter book series gained huge support from fans all around the globe who went to cinemas as early as 8 AM to buy tickets and wait for the opening of the much-awaited film. And a few months before that, these wizard wannabes lined in bookstores to grab a copy of the sixth book in the series. Some even went to stores months earlier to have a copy reserved before it was released to the mad crowd.
I guess because of the mysterious magic that it brings that's why the series has a lot of supporters. Supporters who read the book at least a dozen times each, and read them again whenever the movie comes in theaters. Supporters who buy every HP collectible items ranging from ceramic mugs to rubberized computer mouse pads. Supporters who purchased every magazine that contains the word Harry Potter article even if the article doesn't necessarily tackle the bespectacled boy. Supporters who will do everything possible and legal, of course, to meet the author of the all time favorite children's book. Supporters who do not care even if their friends laugh at them because of their admiration turned craziness towards the book; and those supporters include me.
And like many HP fans, I make sure that I know everything that goes around with the author and the book. As an example, let me tell you, if in case you're not a fan and let alone does not read at least one HP book, that Joanne is already married to Dr. Neil Murray, an anesthetist in Edinburgh Hospital last December 26, 2001. They have three children, one from J.K's ex-husband, and let me add that both came from previous marriages. The nasty rumor that says Mr. Murray is not working anymore because of the huge success of his wife, is a plain gossip. The loving husband, whom media said as the adult version of Harry, is still working as a professional doctor in Edinburgh.

To all the fans of Super Man out there like me, I think this year is our year, because after the long wait of having our favorite hero to fly on the movie screens, this year, he is returning with a vengeance. If we love the films of the late Christopher Reeves, (sob), who for me is the best guy to portray the Man of Steel role, then let's open our arms to welcome the newest superhero flick entitled Super Man Returns slated to make waves on our theaters this June or July. As a matter of fact, I'm so excited about the movie because unlike the TV series which showcase the full biography of the legendary American hero, from his youth to his becoming the full pledge patriot that we know, the movie's plot focuses on his return to Metropolis to reclaim his hero status and his lost love. I think it's different from the Smallville TV series, because the Clark Kent in TV is still on the verge of unleashing his powers. Anyway, I just hope it's as good as the previous films or if it's better, then that's fine. Sequels and follow-ups of superhero films sometimes did not end up well as far as box office pedestal is concerned, like the Batman Begins movie and Incredible Hulk. So I'm keeping my fingers cross, hoping that the latest superman film will gain huge support from movie goers and critics and not to mention colossal cinema success.
But what I don't like about critics is that they eyebrows, plucked or not, when they heard that Tom Welling is not the one who'll portray the much coveted role in this movie. Instead it's an actor who did some TV programs and no movie to boot yet. But, as a fan, I think Brandon Routh is a fine choice for the hero role since he has resemblance with the superhero in the cartoons that is still being aired until now. Tom Welling is cute and gave good acting for the young superman, but now that the movie depicts his return to Earth, Routh is a better choice. And judging the picture, I think there's no hotter hero to invade the movie again except him.

I love watching the war of wrestling stars on my cable channel because the action-packed adventure I get from is simply unparalleled. With their popularity, some of them already went into the movie industry like The Rock or in the recording industry like the rapper-slash-wrestler-slash-model John Cena. And aside from that the number of their fans insisted on having them in their Xbox and PC games.
Perhaps you won't recognize the name Paul Levesque even if it's staring you right at your face infested with acne. But if I say the name Triple H, I think bulb lights are lit on your mind now, eh. Anyway, I believe all of us, unless you're not a wrestling fanatic, know who Triple H is. Well, he's just among the most popular and powerful figures battling for fame inside the wrestling ring.
I believe he's vile, sadistic and ruthless attitude help his wrestling stardom career soar to sky heights. He is actually the leader of the mega-popular D Generation X together with wrestling stars like Road Dogg, and X Pac, but unfortunately, he went to the dark force ion 1999, gaining him the title the cerebral assassin. Among his usual opponents on wrestling matches were the more famous The Rock, Kane, Undertaker, Steve Austin Stone Cold. I learned that he already have four world titles, three Intercontinental and two European on his belt.

I've seen The Lord of The rings for almost five times and yesterday was the sixth term that my bulging eyes glared over the TV set to see the film produced and directed by my favorite director, Peter Jackson. I think I've already told you guys in my previous blog entries why I love Peter Jacksons's masterpieces and why I'll pledged to continue to support his future projects. He is really one great director who can turn any book into blockbuster magic.
And with his plan in producing the immortal PC and Xbox game Halo, there's no denying that he is definitely God's gift to the Hollywood movie industry. Okay, enough of Peter Jackson because I know that you've bitten enough information about him so let's now concentrate on one of the famous and much-loved characters born in one of his movies. Frodo Baggins, the young Hobbit who idolizes his cousin Bilbo and wishes to have the same adventures like what his cousin had, was thrown into a maelstrom of unexpected events and misfortunes when the one ring was given to him by his uncle as an heirloom. I think half of the world's population knew the story already so I'll just focus on my personal reasons why I like his character.
First off, I think Frodo is not like our ordinary heroes that we see in the movies because he isn't exactly built up with the makings of a hero. Just like what the great talespinner J.R.R Tolkien tells us, he along with nine companions went to the Mountain of doom to ruin the Ring of Power which is the root of all evil and destruction. I also like him because unlike many heroes, he has no x-ray eyes or super strength, instead what he has are faithful friends and a heart who desire for the common good of the Middle-earth. Aside from that, we can see that he also has his weaknesses that he have to conquer which makes him apart from any member of the justice league. Also, he has proven that great things may come in small packages and the true measure of a hero is not seen in strength nor height but with your capability of loving and letting go of the ones you once love. Last but definitely not the least, Elijah Wood has place the portrayal of the role in an artistically exceptional pedestal like the author wrote the only role for him, aside from the fact that he's as cute as a Hobbit.

To say that I'm not a movie addict nor watch four DVDs a day is tantamount to saying that I'm a full grown self-confessed liar. Watching movies are more than my favorite hobby or recreational activity. I watch movies because I learn from them aside from the entertainment value that they give me. More than that I feel movies are engaging more on realistic topics so as to reach out more to their audience and equally share the aesthetic value of the said art.
When people ask me about my favorite movie, I usually feel that it's like inquiring about Mt. Everest's height, which for me is something that I can't answer. With the great movies that my eyes have feast on, choosing the best is the hardest challenge a movie aficionado has to conquer. I hope I won't sound bragging here but I think I've watch more than a hundred movies in varying genres at that. But if you'll ask me about my favorite director, that would be as easy as surfing the net with my new Toshiba portable notebook.
There are many superb directors Hollywood was able to produce and one of them is award-winning Peter Jackson. No, he's not a sibling of Michael Jackson nor a distant relative. Jackson magically turned screenplays into gigantic blockbuster flicks like Dead Alive, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and the much-acclaimed remake of the classic King Kong. I decided to post his picture in this blog because I know that only few people have seen his face or can recognize him when they see him on TV. I like him because he's one spanking director that will give Steven Spielberg a run for his money.

Daniel Jacob Radcliffe is I think the most popular and much loved young actor of this generation. He started portraying the role of the orphan boy wizard with the remarkable scar in the forehead when he was still a cute lovely boy. Now with a a more burly body and defined facial features, our little wizard grew up to a handsome young man magicking his way to the hearts of his fans.
I'm a fan of the Harry Potter series and as a matter of fact, I have a collection from books, DVDs, posters, stickers, mugs and even jackets. Being an HP addict, I can say that there's no other guy fit for the role other than Daniel. Not to put too much point on it, I have this feeling that J.K Rowling wrote the book with Daniel in mind. His acting career rocketed skywards to worldwide fame since the release of the first movie which is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's stone. After that, he also help bring to box office success the other three movie versions of the children's bestseller.
This picture here is Daniel as the young Harry with his pet, the snowy owl Hedwig. If my memory serves me right, some animal expert conservationists were alarmed with scenes of Hedwig being kept as a pet and on a cage since owls are used to prowl the wild sky. Anyway, I believe that Warner Bros., ensured that no animals were harmed during the shooting of the film, not even the giant squid. To temporarily gear away from his magical role, Daniel will astound us with his acting expertise on a film about the lives of four orphaned young males entitled December Boys slated for release on the last quarter of 2006. But of course he'll go back playing as our favorite wizard in the fifth book turned movie Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix this 2007. So I guess HP fans like me won't wait that long, and for the meantime, I'll be leaving you with three words, blueberry, nitwit, tweak!

Da Vinci Code gave rise to a maelstrom of intrigue and controversy due to its myriad inquiries to the many key beliefs of the Christian or I'd rather say Catholic society. Now the much anticipated, movie adaptation of the year's intriguing book, stars Tom Hanks portraying Robert Langdon, who is trying to solve the murder of an antediluvian society folded by mysteries and dark secrets for centuries, is slated to bombard cinemas this year.
But I will not discuss on the movie perse' because I may end up spoiling your viewing fancy. I want to talk about the polemical master of the much talk about book, Dan Brown. This picture is taken from his web site. Of course, he is all smiles, what with a whopping 20 million sales worldwide and still counting. Brown was born on June 22,1964 in New Hampshire. On 1982 he graduated at the Phillips Exeter Academy, but he also had a career in music when he went to Los Angeles and studied history in Seville.
As a full time writer, he finished and eventually commercialized his first thriller fiction, Digital Fortress in 1996. He then continued writing similarly bestsellers namely "Angels and Demons" and " Deception Point". Da Vinci which is actually a sequel to "A&D" was promulgated on March 2003.

He's a little famous. He's extremely huge. He' sort of rich. Yet, he's, uhg, a bit sweaty. Do you know what I'm cooking? Nope, I'm not blabbering about a wrestler here. Wrestlers are huge and oh so sweaty, but they're not equally famous like this guy. I'm talking about Houston Rockets' center, Yao Ming. Born on the twelfth of September, 1980 in China's Shanghai town, Ming with the height of 9 feet, 5 inches is today's tallest NBA player. He signed to play with Rockets last October, 2002 after being selected in the same year's NBA draft.
This picture of Yao Ming was taken in the Athens Olympics two years ago. Staring at this picture makes him more admirable. Even if he is playing for NBA, Ming's still proud to show the world the culture of great Chinese people by being the bearer of China's flag. Now, that's what you call patriotic.
This guy proved that he belongs to the A1 players of NBA list after the many acid tests that he encountered in his life. Do I need to elaborate more? Nah, just watch his biopic entitled Year of the Yao. He perhaps looks different from an average American player but he's extraordinary abilities sent him sky high towards a successful basketball career.

One night, as I was flipping through the channels on the television, I chanced upon Lance Armstrong guesting on the Oprah Winfrey show for the second time and without Sheryl Crow. At that time, they were not yet separated. In fact, he was telling Oprah that he had just proposed then to his ex-girlfriend to marry him. He also told the host that he was thinking of going back to participating in the Tour de France, after retiring, supposedly.
For me, this photo of Lance Armstrong reinforces my opinion that he should not go back. Don't get me wrong, I am a fan, and I have no doubt that he loves what he is doing and he can still race in his age. But, the thing is, seven victories in the competition is enough to make him a legend. People remember him for making that famous gesture of seven with his fingers, after winning the 7th Tour de France last year. It does not make a good impression even for a high-profile athlete to take back what was said about retiring. Plus, there are also inevitable expectations that Lance should be able to surpass his previous achievements. It's not bad to go for the best, but I think his record of being unbeatable and already the best in the biking arena would be ruined if he insists on riding the bike again.
